Around three hours later, a Swat team made the decision to go inside and rescue the hostages.
The shooter died in a gunfight with those officers.
The nightclub had earlier posted a chilling message on Facebook saying: “Everyone get out of Pulse and keep running.”
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dye said after the attack.

“Many more saved by the heroic efforts of police.
We a strong community, tonight we had a crime that will have a lasting effect. We need to stand strong.”
Witness Javer Antonetti, 53, told the Orlando Sentinel he was at the club with his brother when the shooting began.
“There so many, at least 40,” he said. “I saw two guys and it was constant, like ‘pow, pow, pow.'” Mr Antonetti escaped after running from the club.
